The Centre

My impressions of PPK in the 80s`.

Razed by fire to the ground
Nothing left but an ashy mound
PPK in the 80s`once stood majestic
In sprawling grounds now nostalgic

In its heyday a hive of activity
Curriculum then a high priority
Experts working on all subjects
Staff with time bound projects

Arts and science separate teams
Ideas and plans in their own realms
Truly a heavy responsibility
Ensuring strict compatibility

In the end broad guidelines
Just about meeting deadlines
Endless discussions to arrive
At an outcome that could survive

A formidable task for anyone
Getting all this properly done
Ably handled in every way
About Asiah this what they say

PPK logo with eyes slanting
Is this good enough as if asking
Highest standards nothing less
For people hard to impress

At last the job accomplished
Toil and trouble that furnished
A curriculum made holistic
Pains taken to make it realistic

From teaching to creating and design
Work experience the only guideline
Fumbling and stumbling along the way
Mastery gained at the end of the day

Asiah Shariffah Nik Faizah Jegadeva
Indra Krishna Terlochan Tony Saha
PeckChin Sooi Gook Teck Sun Gan
Fatimah Hozi Aidah Rahim Siti Hawa Rani

One for all,all for one in spirit
Together working earning merit
What more can one really ask
With colleagues enjoying their task

My privilege and  pleasure
This experience now a treasure
PPK once such a united family
One looks back gratefully
