Grains of Sand

Grains of Sand

Tiny grains of sand
Everywhere seen on land
Over sand as one walks
Knowing they come from rocks

Sand castles out of sand
Buildings all kinds over land
Sand less no cover from sun and rain
For us too much of a strain

Out of sand porcelain China ware
Sparkling gems diamonds to wear
From sand plants and food
Everything else needed for our good

Rocks and sand holding water
Diamonds mica gold and silver
With silicon so much to venture
Hope given for our future

Now with the silicon chip
With this for us so much to reap
So much our civilization owes
Tiny sand grain must get our bows

Universe rocks and Mars
Sun moon earth and stars

Trampled grains of sand
Truly rules the land

Like the king in rags for fun walking
People staring and mocking
Smile and twinkle in the eye
Happy subjects don`t see the lie

Tiny sand grains for us much to tell
Be always like it to be happy and well
Only giving never wanting
To all a good life granting

Without sand the world would vanish
All life then would have to perish
Look for nature`s lessons hidden
Our minds this way can broaden

Sand grains hold together nature
Carelessness greed weakened its stature
Time for us to nurture
Nature back to its lively stature
